Ajwa is from Paradise (Tirmidhi 2066)
Ajwa is a soft dry variety of date fruit exclusively grown in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The “holy date" is distinctly black with fine white lines and has a flavor profile of sweet notes of honey and cinnamon with a satisfying delicate, chewy texture.
Ajwa date seeds were planted in the Quba area of Madinah over 1400 hundred years ago by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Ajwa dates are an essential medicinal remedy in Islam.
Ajwa dates contain healing effects and these are an antidote in the early morning (Sahih Muslim 2048)
There are few farms that harvest Ajwa in the holy city of Madinah. The most prominent farm is located next to Quba Masjid.
